Tale of Three Cities is a large-scale ink drawing in which London, New York, and San José merge into a single compressed architectural landscape. Each city is embodied by a female figure connected to its cultural identity, representing forms of symbolic and civic power.
The work examines how global centres of influence coexist, compete, and overlap within an increasingly interconnected world.
Rendered entirely by hand, the swirling sky and intricate structural detail suggest the velocity and saturation of the information age while resisting it through deliberate labour and controlled line work. Rather than celebrating these cities, the piece questions how identity, authority, and power are constructed and maintained across borders.
The artwork has been executed in fineliner pens, markers, and acrylic inks on 140lb hot pressed watercolour paper. It has been professionally framed and with frame measures 82x100cm
